Trick or Treat Challenge 🎃
These forms will let you enter the actions you took as part of the Trick-or-Treat Challenge for the month of October!
Each entry gives you another chance to win discounts and prizes throughout the whole month, but only newsletter subscribers will have access to the final spooky surprise 👻 — so make sure you’re signed up before October 31! You can sign up here even if you don’t participate in the previous weeks’ challenges.
How it Works
Each week a new “Trick or Treat Tuesday” challenge will go up on Instagram, with 2 different options for you to do in the coming week. You can also check this page directly to see the details for that week’s challenge.
You have the whole week until the next Tuesday challenge is posted to do the challenge and submit the corresponding form 👇 If you’re participating using the Instagram posts, great! You can also share the post and your participation in your stories, or as posts to your grid — make sure you tag @necessaryevilcoaching if you do!
Each week’s participants will go into a lottery to receive a coupon, discount, or other prize from Necessary Evil Coaching. You’ll be notified by email if you win, so make sure you submit the form!
On October 31st, I’ll do a special drawing from newsletter subscribers for a final spooky surprise 👻 If you’ve participated in previous weeks’ challenges, you’ll have more chances to win (1 per trick or treat you do!) than if you were just a one-time newsletter subscriber, but only folks on the newsletter list will go into this final drawing so make sure you’ve at least signed up for the newsletter before Halloween for a chance to win.
Week 4
Trick
Find a way to move that's outside your norm—whether it's a dreaded transverse plane movement or getting upside down that spooks you, challenge yourself to pick a movement and try it out.
Treat
Do more for your trick-or-treaters young and old this year. SNAP benefits are set to expire Nov 1st, which will impact >40 million people. You can help your community not go hungry by stocking some non-candy options for trick-or-treaters and making a cash donation to your local food bank.
Week 3
Trick
Do a skill, drill, or trick with a buddy! You can do it as a duo, trio, or just ask for friendly spotter support.
Treat
Send someone an article or post about political news that you found helpful from this week, and ask them what they think about it. Challenge yourself to stay in the conversation — even when it feels scary!
Week 2
Trick
Do a mobility drill you know you need but never do 🙃 Maybe even more than once 😇
Treat
Plan a night out this month...that has you active in your community. Use your imagination, and invite a friend! If you’re in the Chicago area, Nighthawk is hosting a whistle/zine prep party this Friday the 17th that you can check out.
Week 1
Trick
Pick your nemesis exercise or drill — one you dread or know you can't do perfectly — and try it 3x this week.
Treat
It's Banned Books Week! Buy a book for Midwest Books for Prisoners to help give reading access to our friends who are incarcerated.
Check out the gift registries at Skunk Cabbage or Pilsen Community Books, and make a purchase before October 11th.
